In modelled writing, you demonstrate the writing process by "thinking aloud" while composing a text on the board or on chart paper.
In this approach you expose children to a variety of writing forms, determined by the purpose of the writing. As a model, you show children that composing a text requires thought and presents challenges.
A modelled writing should be a brief writing related to the learning experiences in the classroom. Modeled writing may also be used when responding to shared and guided reading books.
