shared reading

The shared reading approach involves reading in a whole-group setting. Children observe, share in the reading, respond to the text, and reread the text together.

Your role is to demonstrate, explain, and support them as they practice what they have learned. During shared reading, you and your children come together to read and reread rhymes, songs, poems, informational texts, and stories.

All children- emergent, early and fluency readers can confidently participate as they support one another.
