shared writing

During a shared writing session, you serve as the scribe as you and the class work together to compose and read a text.

The primary responsibility for composing the text comes from children as you contribute by sharing your ideas and expressing the use of pertinent strategies. As you scribe, you encourage children to also share their thinking and read the text.

The teaching focus of the shared writing includes skills and strategies related to conventions of print, spelling, the writing process, writing styles, and text organisation.
